If you want to do medicine and want to conquer the obstacle that is medical interviews, this book is a must!!! I learned so much about how to approach questions in a calm and methodical way, which helped me to articulate my answers in a much more effective way. It goes into detail of the variety of questions I could be faced with, allowing me to familiarise myself with medical interview questions and understand what type of preparation I needed in order to be sharp when it came time for the interviews. It broke things down in a structured and easily understandable way with plenty of examples to practice on that made it a useful resource that guided my interview preparation

While many prospective medical students (myself included) pour countless hours into stressing over the tiniest details over the HSC and UCAT, we tend to lose sight of an equally important aspect of our journey into medicine – the interview. This is where MissionMed came to save the day. Before I attended the MissionMed workshop and studied his book, I didn’t really understand much about the interview process and I was mainly going off the anecdotes that I had heard off my friends. This increased my nerves and stress around the interviews. However, the workshop first provided me with a great general overview of what the interview structure was like, the reasons behind the interview, how to practice and the general interview guidelines/tips that I needed to ease my anxieties over the unknowns surrounding the interview. After this, I turned to the MissionMed book to help myself begin the process of filling in the fine details required to ace the medical interviews. This is where the real magic of the program lies. Something I found extremely useful was that it both introduced me to a plethora of questions and also provided deep and detailed example answers to each question – a critical feature that other interview preparation courses lack. While I understood that I could not replicate these answers (which was made abundantly clear in the book), it served as an invaluable springboard to reflect on my own life experiences to be able to answer the questions. It also worked as a very sound guide on how to structure my interview answers to both introduce anecdotes and appropriately break them down to their key principles. Additionally, it provided numerous practice questions that I could use to prepare with, which quite closely emulated the questions I received in my actual interviews. Overall, this interview training program served as an invaluable part of my overall interview preparation – providing me both the skills and confidence to ace my interviews.
